Modern Self Defense: The Saenchai Boxing Combo for Mastery
Every now and then, we come across a self-defence technique that not only changes our perspective but also challenges us to elevate our skills. One such technique, the boxing combo, has been recently unveiled by renowned fighter Saenchai and presented on MMAShredded, a YouTube channel managed by Jeff Chan. This intriguing combo, at a surface glance, seems to be just another drilling sequence. But when you start unpacking the layers of science involved in this seemingly simple combo, you’ll realize how potent and innovative it truly is. The Art of the Saenchai Combo In essence, the Saenchai combo is a mix of fast-paced strikes, power punches, and swift evasion. Its beauty lies in the balance it creates between attacking and defending, making it perfect for modern self defence. Exploiting the rapidity of multiple strikes confuses and overwhelms the opponent. At the same time, it showcases the importance of mastering the art of swift evasion β a key self-defence technique in the real world. After all, it is often more important to avoid the punch than to land one. Conditioning: The Staple of Self Defense What’s noteworthy about this combo is it’s also an effective conditioning program. One could argue that boxing combos and conditioning drills are two sides of the same coin, both improving body coordination and enhancing motor skills. The Saenchai combo, by incorporating fast strikes and quick evasiveness, helps condition the body to react instantly under threat. This rapid response time is what often makes the difference in real-world self-defense scenarios. It's always a treat to fight someone so experienced, you always are learning stuff like this
I am not a fighter, my experience with martial arts is still in it's infancy, but to me it seems (at least comparing to the footage from Saenchai) that you aren't really using the backfist/hammerfist, instead is just kinda leaving your arm there or lightly touching instead of really doing the motion. Again, you are definetly more experience than me Jeff, so I might be completly wrong here.

I learnt the failed hook to backhand from watching Andre Arlovski back in the day
